In this course students will learn how to create mods for Minecraft Java Edition using the open source software MCreator. Mods (short for modifications) allow users to change the game by adding new blocks, items and mobs or change the way elements appear, move or act in the game. With MCreator mods can be created using block based coding, Java coding or no coding depending on how complex the mod is.

Students must have a copy of Minecraft Java Edition (https://minecraft.net) for Windows, MAC or Linux installed. Please note there is a cost for this software. MCreator, a free open source software, must also be installed. MCreator can be downloaded from https://mcreator.net/download. The recommended computer requirements for MCreator are:
Windows 10+ or Linux Ubuntu/Debian with GTK3+ or MacOS 11+
64-bit architecture and operating system
8GB RAM
4 core (or more) CPU Intel/AMD
2 GB (or more) of free storage
